As one way of empowering women economically citizen impact (CIO )a Mzuzu based youth organisation has embarked on training women in bee –keeping at mtende in mzimba north.
Speaking during the donation of beehive at mtende, citizen impact organisation field officer, wisdom Moyo,said they thought it wise to come up with the idea after realizing that women in rural areas face a lot of economic challenges.

However moyo has asked women in the area and other areas in the country to embrace the same and start small scale businesses as it is the only way of improving their living standards.
Mebo Soko who represented fellow women commended the (CIO )for the gesture, saying it will help them in one way of the other.
About 30 women have been trained in bee-keeping, Citizen impact organisation is a youth led Malawian based non-profit organisation that works to empower, lead, change and influence the socio-economic well-being of youth, women and children.
